So you'll never guess how he proposed! HOT AIR BALLOON! It was magical <3
We had planned on going to the balloon fest a few months back because 1. We have always wanted to ride one and 2. We had to check it off our bucket lists! It was also going on in the town that we met, Poteau, Oklahoma. We got there around 4 and they said the balloon rides would start around 4:30. Well we waited and waited and balloons still weren't even there. So we asked the people who looked "in charge" and they made it seem like the chances were small that they would do balloon rides because of the wind and low cloud coverage, but told us to check back with them in about an hour. Little did I know, Drew was having a mini panic attack inside. lol He sure played it cool though. So we waited and waited and finally got to ride one around 7:30 p.m. We hopped on the balloon ready to ride, and sure enough I got the ride of my life. He got down on one knee (in the basket, while in the air) and asked me to marry him! I said yes about 10 times (lol) and he slid the gorgeous ring on my finger. I immediately started happy bawling. Who wouldn't? I wish I could describe all the rush that I got. It was more adrenaline than sky diving! It was like everyone and everything else in the world was just blurred out. It was just me and Drew in that moment. It really was magical. We were so in the moment when getting off the balloon that we completely forgot to see if anyone got any pictures. There were tons of photographers there for the Balloon Festival, but in that moment it was still just me and him.
A few days later I decided to give it a shot and try to find some kind of picture or something. There were so many people there, I never in a million years thought I would find anything. See the post that found footage of our engagement below:
Since then we have been trying to nail down our location but still having a rough time finding what we want that won't break the bank. We thought we had found the perfect place, but come to find out there were some "fine print details" that deterred us from that venue. So I am not going to lie, I got a little discouraged. We can't really plan much till we set a location, but there is one thing that we could do that sure did cheer me up.... Engagement Pictures!!!
One of my very good friends from high school is also a photographer! She is amazing! Our session went seamless, besides the fact that the canoe was a lot bigger than the truck bed that we had to load it in. This was my fault. My depth perception isn't the best, but hey we still got it to the water. Win! She did a great job despite our tiny hiccup. Go like her facebook page here if you don't already. She is located around the Sallisaw, OK. area and I strongly recommend her if you live around there. She is fantastic! Check out the sneak peeks of our engagement session below!
Well, that's our Life Lately! <3
